I've spent a lot of time looking for a quality trunk box for the R3T. I've narrowed it down to a few choices but I just can't seem to commit to any of them. I'm hoping to benefit from your experiences.

1. Corbin Fleetliner
Looks the best by far of any of them. Stunning.
My frugal Scottish grandmother is rolling in her grave at the thought of laying out $1800 for a box
Comes color matched to the bike.
Have read about some problems with the mounting brackets being springy over bumps causing cracks/pre-mature failures.
Comes with all mounting hardware
Made in USA

2. Tsukayu Touring Trunk
Looks OK maybe even good
Hand laid fiberglass construction
Can't find any kind of review or info other than the manufacturers website
Around $1000 color matched to the bike
A little worried about customer support and service after the sale since the product is made and sold from Japan.

3. Givi
Cheap.
Looks cheap. I remain dubious about the quality and long term durabilty of the plastics.
Nickel and dime add ons. Brake lights, back pad, mounting brackets.
Unsure of specific fitment for the R3T.

Any guidance would be much appreciated.

I had a Tsukayu trunk on my '02 Victory and was pleased with the quality and function. This was a few years ago, but they originally sent the wrong mount and were quick to rectify their mistake. I'd have no qualms buying from them again.

Corbin of course is the company we all love to hate. Good products, crap service.

Personally I would buy a JCWhitney or Bestem trunk before I'd pay Givi prices. They may be slightly lower in quality than the Givi, but I've had both and they've given years of service for a fraction of the cost. My current Bestem goes between my DR and Roadster racks depending on the trip.

Keep saddle bag lid interference in mind when choosing a trunk - there's a reason Corbin bags open the way they do.

Tsukayu has rec'd all around good reviews from fellow R3 Captains over the years. When I first bought my Mulberry Mistress I contemplated adding a trunk, too and after all my research was through, Tsukayu was my first choice as they offered a quality product at a fair price.

Corbin is out of their minds with their pricing and the myriad of negative comments about how they conduct their business is a major turn-off for me. IMO, Givi's stuff looks good but isn't very robust.

The trunk arrived a couple of days ago. I installed it over a couple of work sessions yesterday and today. The installation kit that came with the trunk was pretty useless. Threads on parts mounting to the bike were wrong. A trip to the hardware store solved the problem for about $25.

Quality of the trunk could have been a lot better. There are voids around the latch that were painted over and then chipped/flaked off during shipping. I've contacted them and sent pictures. Now waiting to hear the outcome.

Feeling like I should have spent the money on the Corbin.

Give 'em a chance to make things right, forty! Did you buy direct from Tsukayu or through one of their dealers?

I finished up the trunk installation today.. Required yet another trip to the hardware store and modification of the mounting brackets.

The brackets are made of chromed steel and look to be of good quality. The holes were drilled and threaded before the chrome was applied and the threads were too tight to accept the bolts that hold the trunk on. I ended up having to drill out the threaded holes and replace the bolts with 1/4 20 bolts with logk washers and nuts. Worked out well enough.

I received an email from sales at Tsukayu. The are sending me a new trunk lid free of charge. However, it is not drilled or have any hardware installed. The are sending rivets and other hardware for me to further assemble when it arrives. Thumbs up on a quick response.
