I'm starting to have issues with the clutch switch. Is there an established cleaning procedure to perform?
If I replace it, since it's a $106 part (you could replace just the $6 switch component itself on my Suzuki </gripe>), is the switch portion of it compatible with any of the later models with the flash to pass switch? or would I need to replace the whole **** assembly?
I had a problem with my clutch switch, I remove it from the perch, pulled the rubber cover back as far as I could, washed the switch in a mixture of vinegar & salt to remove all corrosion then washed the switch in bicarbonate of soda, gave it a good blow out with the air hose, the switch work great, then pushed in as much electrical grease as I could into the switch and refitted. No more problems.
Thanks guys, I'll take some contact cleaner to it. I don't want to bypass it as I still plan to get a DeCosse ignition when the piggy bank gets full enough...
Well, ummm... see, the thing is... it's only been a little over a month - barely seven weeks since that post and I've yet to crack it open. Every time I go out to the garage, the road beckons and I keep wiggling the lever to start.
