Hey guys. I have an 07 Classic that I bought last year with 1300 miles on it. Over the winter I installed D&D exhasut, power commander, pod filter mod, GI pro, removed secondaries. The bike runs great and pulls like crazy. The one thing that I have noticed is that in the higher gears like 3rd and 4th when I let the RPM's drop and I start to accelerate hard it sounds like the clutch is slipping. With the unmolested condition of the bike and the low miles I would not think it would have a clutch issue already. I wasn't sure if maybe the engine characteristics with the secondaries removed would make sound as if the clutch was slipping. I can kind of compare it to a Yamaha vmax when the v-boost kicks in. I may just be going crazy. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

Do you have free play in the clutch cable ? Also if someone put automotive oil in it, that's a bad thing. Automotive oils have friction modifiers in them that play hell with a wet motorcycle clutch.

Cable seems to be ok. I am going to try changing the oil because im not sure what was in it prior. What is the oil of prefrence around here? Any other ideas?

To bigbelly, I'm trying to find out myself about the question of oil. Trying to find the recommended oil by Triumph, Castrol 10 W 50 or even Lucas 10 W 50, both JASO MA2 approved, is almost impossible at any of the farm stores, auto stores or motorcycle stores close to me. I have about decided to go the the Mobil distributor 28 miles from me and get get both 4T 10 W 40 racing Mobil oil, and 20 W 50 V-twin oil and blend them together to come up with a concoction of 15 W 45 JASO MA2 oil. Anyone have any input on this idea?

Don't know if would be blending oils!
Your Mobil dealer should be able to order in "Mobil 1 4t full synthetic which is the oil Triumph used to endorse and recommend it before they changed to Castrol Oil

Why do you want to mix the oils in the first place ?
