I have about 25k on my R3T (stock with Tuneboy), and noticed that the clutch was slipping a little bit. I have a few questions, hopefully someone can answer:

Any suggestions on a replacement?
What is the difference between Stock, Slipper, and Lock up?
How hard/easy is it to replace?
Is this something that I should take into the dealer, or can a reasonably capable person install it?

Thanks,
D.

No, I am using the correct oil, and the pull on the clutch handle is about 2-3 mm as per the manual. On the adjustment screw I still have about 1/2 left.

Dave you should be able to feel the free play down by the lifter shaft and arm buy using your hands. I always doble check there as the leverage at the clutch handle is to much to really tell. Have you been doing burn outs?

I just posted this on another clutch thread so here it is for you also
Hope it helps some and yes you can change the clutch yourself if you can do some wrenching its not to technical just follow the manuals directions and you will be fine.

MTC Engineering has the best clutch fibers on the market and their springs are 20.5% stiffer then stock. I have over 20,000 miles on mine and I am not nice to it!!! I have the TTS SuperCharger Kit and the stage two Carpenter Racing kit. 11.4:1 pistons Cams with .125" higher lift, ported head and 2 mm larger titanium intake valves and no slippage what so ever. I have not changed the fiber since I installed the first prototype set. I bought a new set but did not have to install them as mine with all the mileage were only .002" thinner the the new ones. I have not been on the dyno but I am betting I am well over 300 hp now and more once I tune her. I highly recommend them.

You would not believe how fast you pass 100MPH in 5th when you just twist the throttle. It feels like it wants to rip your arms out of the sockets!!! Just ****ing brutal !!! Thank god for the drivers backrest or I would not stay in the saddle :)

So 2-3 mm at the arm. I will give it a quick adjust before my ride to work tomorrow.
If it is too tight will it slip?

Yes Dave if its tight then you could be relieving some of the spring pressure like pulling on the clutch. I just feel for the free play down on the arm to make sure the lifter shaft is not rubbing or pulling on the lifter piece. Oh and I am using car oil for 50 miles more then I will be switching to turbo diesel oil for a couple thousand mile or what ever mileage I put on her during the maggie valley (RAAVI) ride. After that it Joe Gibbs racing oil for my beatie as nothing is to good for her!!!

Here is a shot of my set up
