Cummon, by now someone is making them...right? Is there another Mfgr that has some that fit? Yellow/orange turnsignals are killing my blacked out ride.

Yeah I'd like to see some clear lenses, asked about them a year ago myself! If you find something that wroks please post your find here!!! 8)

There was a request for this on the Swedish R3 forum, so I decided to make them. The material I use is Epoxi. Unfortunetly can Epoxi become slightly discoloured of long term exposure to UV. This is hard to see in such a thinn walled product. Still I try to protect them by coating them with a thinn PMMA layer after they have been polished. I do not know how effetive this is, but if anyone is unhappy, I will make new for free or refound.

I sell them for EUR 20 a piece incl. postage.

Unfortunetly it takes 8 days to make 4, so delivery time can be a bit long side sometimes.

The lence on the picture is an early example made from PUR. They look much better now after I started to use epoxi and after I got a bit of experiance.

Mail me on plastman@telia.com if you are interessted.

Have you thought of small LED indicators :?:

No, there are plenty of those in the market. However, I can copy any lence cover.

There has also been a request for a flat lence and I will make one. It will take some time before I have that ready though, since I need to make a prototype from polished metall and PMMA first.

Hmm...interesting. I am not a cheap person but 20 euros per lens is maybe to steep for me.

Yes, it's not cheep, but let me explain why:

Silicon for 1 mould: app 50 EUR
This mould can produce anything from 10 - 20 pcs before it is worn out

Material for casting one: EUR 3

Time to mix one batch and de-gas takes about 40 min. (I bought a vacuumpump for EUR 500 and built a vacuum camber for this purpose)

Filling the mould: 15 - 25 min

After 48 hours the part is released (about 25 % of the castings is rejected at this stage) and heat treated over 24 hours

The instills are filed away by hand and the part is pollished

The part is then painted with a PMMA coating.

The holes drilled to the right dimention.

Packed and posted.

I can promise that I will not get rich by making these. I produce them for fun with and for the love of the R3 and to learn how to do more stuff to the bike.

Cummon, post a pic of your blacked out ride. I like blacked out rides. 8)

Oh...no, no...don't get me wrong. I wasn't saying you were ripping anyone off. I know that making one off products does not happen quickly or cheaply. I just meant I was having a tough time justifying $120us for turn signal covers. Now, I AM trying to justify it...and knowing my spending habits...you may just get an order from me

Lenses

Has anybody converted their Rocket turn signals into running light ? Front amber - red rear. The factory lamps, not after market.

Is so, what did you do to make it work ? Any problems after ?

did you attempt the flat clear lens? i am interested in being rid of the OEM yellows.
