Ok I've been having a rough idle and a miss for a little while on my Roadster. I've drained the tank, added Seafoam, and fresh non ethanol gas. Although it seemed to run better there at first it was all down hill from there.

When I first crank the bike it runs rough and blows black smoke out the exhaust. After the bike runs for at least 5 to 10 minutes it starts to run smooth. It's like a switch gets thrown and the bike smooths out and the over rich condition disappears. No trouble light or anything that would show something is wrong.

A friend of mine told me "You got fouled plugs." I took them out and this what I saw.

Fouled? I have brand new plugs waiting to go in but I want a leaner tune. O2 sensor is disconnected. TORS exhaust, staintune crossover,K&N filters,TuneECU

I'm thinking of trying a stock type tune (leaner)

Any recommendations or advise appreciated.

What tune ar you currently running, is the O2 sensor turned of in the ECU, if not Use TuneECU or TuyneBoy which ever you have and uncheck the O2 sensor in there it sounds like your L Tables are to rich also make sure all ECU connections are secure and even maybe put some Dielectric grease in them have you mounted you Air temp sensor between the Triples, Give Wayne Tripp a call or better still if you don't live to far from him get him to have a look it is probally something simple

I have never liked SeaFoam in anything, tried it several cages and I would swear they ran worse. I changed plugs at 20K, will check em again. Thanks Mully.

What tune ar you currently running,

Here is the information

Roadster tuned for 3xKN and TORS
100%secs opened on all rpm, all gear
ignition tables copied from highest gears to all other gears
speedo corrected
250 kph top speed
made by Bruce Ingram in Houston Texas

is the O2 sensor turned of in the ECU,

Yes......the box is unchecked. The O2 harness has a eliminator plugged into it.

temp sensor between the Triples,

No but I have it in top of one of filters located in the flow of air

Give Wayne Tripp a call or better still if you don't live to far from him get him to have a look it is probally

Wayne doesn't care to much about me and tell you truth the feeling is mutual

You are running a bit rich to say the least. Is that the new two stroke Roadster that you have:D

It is as close to a two stroke as it will get that's for sure.

This my first time using it. Going to all those different gas stations has to take its toll. I more likely buy any more. On a different note I should had left my bike 100% stock....but I wanted a deeper tone in the exhaust and a bit more power.

another thing I switched to Iridium Plugs at 20,000 klm definately starts better since
Shame you don't get on with Wayne he has been very helpfull.
I would be looking to take your bike to a dyno and get them to tune it the tune you have was set up on another bike and there might be something a little different a PCV won't help your start up but if you were to run a leaner tune and it stoped playing up I would stick to it and add PCV + AT then put my AFR table in and Hang on you see the PCV + AT dosen't cut in till 2% throttle so it will give you ideal fueling from 2% throttle so it is like having it on a dyno allthe time youshould go in and acept the trims every so often so it work even more efficently

I have seen "PCV + AT" but have not took the time to figure out what it is. What are the advantages of it over TuneECU? I like tunecu because its free!

I would like to get the bike running smoothly again call it quits lol

I'm having the same problem and Wayne told me to check the plugs aswell. I will try to do that this weekend.
Does anyone know if an auto parts store carries those plugs of do I have to order them?
