Change your own rear tire?

Hey everyone, even though the Dyno Beads are extremely small in diameter, they won't pass through the valve stems on the Rocket. Apparently the 90 degree style of the stems has an "even smaller" diameter air passage and the beads will not make the turn. They will work on standard valve stems (so the instructions say). Be sure to get the beads and weigh them out (weight chart per tire size on-line) before having the tire mounted so the installer has them to put in before inflation. I provided my installer with a small funnel and about 12 inches of tubing slipped on to allow the beads to be poured into the tire as it lay on the mounting machine (horizontal).

Just a little FYI.

See ya.

They fit through the valve stems on my Rocket. You do have to remove the core but I thought that was obvious. You just have to feed them slowly or they will jam up then you have to poke a wire in to free them up it's tedious procedure and the wheel should be tilted to the side. But they do fit. Dyna beads are about the size of coarse sand.

O CONTRAIR. I installed the dynabeads in both front (2.0 oz.) and rear (4.0 oz) If you follow the instructions and use the engraver to vibrate the little buggers in. they will march single file into the stem. the front is a piece of cake. The rear is another story, I laid the FBG right down on her side and an hour and a half later we had balance. Rusty is right the time to install is as the tire goes on but they will go through the stems. (I have the patience of a saint when it comes to my scooter).

Rusty, you do have to remove the valve core.:D

OK guys, I stand corrected. The beads would not pass through the front stem of my wheel but if you other captains have completed the task, good for you. I even took a single bead & tried to make it go through but it was futile.

I flipped the guy at the local bike shop a few $$$ for breaking down the front tire & pouring the beads in for me. The rear was filled when they installed it, in fact, they gave me the extra beads from the bag after they installed the 3.5 oz in the Cooper Zeon 2XP rear for me.

Now I know why I don't post much any more. Most of my statements wind up being false and I have to eat Crow. I don't like Crow. ;)

Thanks for setting the record straight Lester & Gunshots.

See ya.

I used a little air pressure to clear the jam pile at the bend. just blow a little air in the delivery hose supplied with the beads (from a blow nozzle worked best) and as the air comes back out it breaks the jam loose. Just hold your thumb over the hose to regulate the air coming out so you dont get shot blasted by dyna beads. Just like everything else I got on to it about the time I was done.
Crow is better than road kill pancakes....

You know Rusty I was looking at those dyanabeads and the only reason I went with the liquid balancing/hole fix stuff is my good luck with finding flats. Getting a little disappointed with Find-A-Flat II only locating one in 12 grand.
