Not quite Triumph R3 but R3 of sorts.
In the past few days I have returned to the resto of my 69 BSA R3. Its been a long road but is near completion. Have enjoyed most of it especially the complete strip and rebuild of the motor - that's always been the favorite bit for me. However there have been some disappointments that mainly came from poor quality parts that seem to abound in classic bike stuff these days.
This is just the latest: I screwed in the plug leads and fitted caps to the plugs (out of head) to test for spark and all was ok. Pulled plugs to refit to head and two of them came out with a turned part still on the plugs. They had broken internally, see attached image. The brass holding the thing together is very thin in my opinion and broke far too easily.
