Ive done thousands of miles on cruisers . Harleys,Indians and have owned three Triumph R3s..Riding in the states and in NZ. A week ago on my Rocket3 GT my foot got yanked off the peg and thrown against the right hand mufflers.
I stayed on line and made the corner. A good dent in the shield and a fractured foot. Im 6.3 with long legs. The setup on my GT is all wrong. Heals hang lower than the scrapers on any of the 3 peg positions. Going to have to try riding with heals on the pegs. Is this crazy or an option. Maybe differnt boots. Try an R seat. Even thought about a finger rear brake as no matter rear peddle is adjusted its always in the way. Ive done 1100ks mainly on twisty roads on this GT. Any other ideas.. I dont ride like Valentino but then I dont ride like Henry Cole.

I dislike the pegs also. They are short to increase the lean angle. I only have a size 10 boot but if I don't concentrate in turns I scrape my boots. It has hurt a few times and now I look like a Ballerina on my tip toes going into turns. I would gladly sacrifice lean angle for more than 4"X1" pegs. 5" to 6" would be good (I heard it)

Sounds like your like me. Trying to get right foot comfortable. It sure aint at the moment.
Really want to solve this. Or sell it. As you can imagine Im gun shy now as well.

Sorry to hear my friend. I ordered my GT new with mid mounts, however I had to ride the GT for about a week before the mids arrive. During this time I had similar events, fortunately no injury. It seems like only when at speed,; and or the wind direction changes - even at lower speeds. The later IMO is the biggest culprit and sure it's of concern! it catches you by surprise every time, no warning and very quickly.

hope you recover quickly and get mid mounts!! they are great bikes in this config.

best wishes all

mid mounts also fixes boots/pegs scrapping and dramatically increase lean angle when installed in the highest position.

Sidenote: Floorboards IMO would essentially kill any lean angle...

Hi, thanks for your kind thoughts. Im a lanky fella and would be real cramped on the mid mounts. Will try my mates 3R though. Im sure unless I do something it will happen again.
How tall are you? Interesting similar stuff happened to you. Are other tall people having issues I wonder. Cheers
