My recently purchased 2015 Roadster ABS(only 8500 miles)has sprung a rear brake fluid leak. The previous owner claims to have never used rear brake as to why I found the rear reservoir was empty. Good grief, why me? Anyway, I filled it with DOT 4 and put about 500 miles on bike when I found, after recent ride, the brake fluid splashed onto my right side muffler and right side swing arm cover. Got home and reservoir showed half the fluid gone. So, I refilled reservoir and added a couple drops of tracing dye in hopes of getting a clue where the leak is. The ultraviolet flashlight only shows(bright green)possible leakage from under the metal reservoir cap. While examining the parts and looking for clues for the leak cause I found the rubber diaphragm part distorted and not fitting around the rim of the reservoir in front and backsides. I've ordered what Hermys calls the seal(diagram #8) and insert(diagram #10). What puzzles me is why does the diagram show the order of the installed parts different than what I found when opening up the reservoir diagram attached. What they show as the "insert" was under my cap and the part they call the "seal" is next under the insert. Their diagram shows the seal under the cap and the insert next under that. That is backwards from what Ifound and what I recently installed as to the order. Is their diagram showing the correct order? 🤨

Diagram is correct, im gonna guess previous owner didnt use rear brakes😂.
Yes, he did not use the rear brake, as I said, "The previous owner claims to have never used rear brake as to why I found the rear reservoir was empty. " I don't understand why that diagram order works but I will try it. I have ordered a new seal and insert and will post pictures of them when received and maybe you can walk me though the install. What I will need to know is what is up and what is down with these parts. Thanks Kevin.

Got new reservoir parts yesterday. Each has two distinctly different sides. What sides face up and what sides face down? Photos attached. Thanks.

I tried to install the new parts I received and they do not fit. I failed to note the diagram clearly shows the shape, screw positions, etc. of the new parts( a rubber diaphragm and plastic plate "insert")and they are very different than what I have on my '15 Rocket Roadster, ABS. I now have to go back to the Hermys Triumph Estore to see where I went wrong. I suspect I failed to note there is a different diagram and parts for ABS bikes. I will post some pictures to show the part differences. New parts are larger and do not fit in my reservoir. My cover holes are at opposite diagonal corners and the new parts only use screws on the opposite sides of the reservoir. I gave Hermys my VIN number as requested but for some reason they thought the parts I ordered would fit. In the past they have spared me lots of grief by telling me about parts I have ordered for my Rockets that would not fit but in this case something slipped through the cracks. Mostly, my fault I'm sure, because of my old shriveling brain, not to mention my other shriveling parts. :(:)

Good fortune with your repairs.
I have only two ancillary comments:
1). I have two R3Rs (2011 & 2012) both rear ABS are crap and lock up. I’ve de-fused the rear ABS on both.
2). Never using the rear brakes on a R3R monster motor is beyond foolish! Good luck when making a turn while braking if you encounter some unseen debris on the roadway. If you occasionaly hoon the twisties, you are moving into the stupid area.
Just IMHO. 👍

When, "de-fused" you still have regular non-ABS braking power? If so, how might I go about making my '15 ABS de-fused? Thanks. :)

on my 07 (no abs) i use the rear brake all the time and that works out great but i have found out that in an emergency like i came around a corner (deers cross in the corners bummer) and there was six deers all over the road clamping on the front brake hard any pressure on the rear will lock the rear tire. now if i had abs it would not lock the rear tire but would not help getting stopped. just info
in cars i have just pulled the fuse to disable the abs. the cars that i have had the abs worked great so no pulling the fuse.
i am not advising you to pull the fuse but if you do better be fast on releasing the rear break cause the rocket likes to come around on you.
