Does anyone happen to know where the Tach gets it's signal. Mine is bouncing. I have checked the wiring diagram. Everything goes to the ECU. Plus there is no wiring info on the instraments.
The signal has to start someplace, before it goes to the ECU. The bike is running fine . The TPS 1 & stepper are dead on according to the Tune ECU. Idle is set at 970RPM.
Thanks in advance.

It might not be the electrical signal. Those are usually either on or off - not surging.

Since the needle is the thing that's bouncing, I suspect the needle mechanism may be crudded up. That mechanism includes all the stuff behind the face, too. You may have to take it to a speedo shop and have them give it a cleaning and calibration. They would do that based on the specs for the electrical signal voltage coming into the unit.

I don't have your model of bike, buit I've had a bunch of speedos crap up on me from other rigs Good luck.

I have had similar problems , but I have recently completed a major maintence job. That is why I am thinking that there is some dirt , or just a bad connection some place. In the not to old days I would have replaced the ballast resistor , and 90% chance that it would hve been OK.

Mine acts like its binding up and sticks after a partial sweep ..haven't had time to mess with it yet ...friggen irritating.
