Ok , is there a reason why the bevel box will only slide back a little without fully coming off.
The 4 bolts were off , shock lower off , but only getting some movement before it stops hard.
I buttoned it back up for now but I would like to grease the splines.
I didn't want to force it and possibly break something.
What's causing the hang up guys?

I would say it is just a bit firm in the splines - the molly grease may have dried up, i would advise to keep trying because you want to be sure your splines are lubricaated properly.

Yeah I would go ahead and take it back apart and try to get it off. Grease it up before it gets to bad. The amount of money we are talking about repair is over thousand dollars. If you have to replace the axle the swing arm has to come off. I would be so paranoid about it I wouldn't even ride it because I don't have a thousand laying around. lol
I would use a rubber hammer or something of that nature to get it apart. Maybe two small wooden wedges on each side in between the bevel box and swing arm. Tap the wedges one at a time. Just throwing something out there.

Ok thanks guys . I'll get to it this weekend.
Sounds like it need just a little extra persuasion just didn't want to break something.
I have some hickory and a deadblow , I won't leave a mark.

Like stated above the OEM muck the added to the splines might be giving you some grief because it dried up like mortar. That and a little spline wear can be holding you up. wedges and a dead blow should help. if the front of the drive shaft seem to come back and almost off make sure it is set back up in there you can pull the spring out of the end of the shaft and use the wood and dead blow to make sure she is seated on the motor end. It will not come completely off but might drift back some when your pulling the bevel box.
