Altough very interresting i think u would need a lot of mechanical expertice plus at least a nice press and a tool like i have (is two pieces that bolt together to remove the pinion coupler) or make one like pics.
In order to do a good job u need to know if the pinion/ gear have a good patern know how to check bearings and if bad replace and reset adjustment.
I think there r a few guys on here that can do this.
The way i would approch this is to get a unit to take apart to find out why it is leaking. Could be defective seals, poor machine area that the seal rides on,bearings going bad, seal in backard, seal driven to deep, ect.
I would have to price parts labor 100-300
For my friends a couple of six packs

Turbo Gets It Done. I know from personal experience. I have a 2007 spare. I think they made changes in 2008 and they fit the older bikes. Have been looking for a spare shaft in case those splines go bad too. BTW... How do you guys clean the splines on both sides? Moly cakes hard and it is a pain to remove well. How much Moly do you put in when lubing?

Learned how to clean from @1K9 and his caliper rebuild thread, anyway Brake clean, brushes long and short, emory cloth, and to lube @Mad Dog turned me onto the tungsten disulfide(in the proper amount) and i have always used the extreme pressure yamalube molybdenum disulfide grease and to fill only lucas racing gear oil. Cleanliness is next to godliness
