Bevel Box Drain Plug

Filler Plug Torque

Concerned about over-torquing bevel box filler plug. Service and owners manual calls for torque of 60nm. Sounds high - anyone have experience/suggestions? Also does not call for compression washer - has anyone used one??

left hand twist drill bits

get a set, they're great for applications where you can drill a hole with a portable drill. with such a low torque setting for the plug, it would seem that this would be a great place to use left hand drill bits. once it grabs, with that low of torque, the plug would most likely come out being as you'd be using a left twist bit.

60Nm for filler/level plug and 15Nm for drain plug are both good. Not good to get it the wrong way round though.

There is no need for washers on either.

That's a neat little tool. Probably not workable for the machine bolts I break but ideal for around the house stuff. Irwin tools makes the multi-spline extractors I use, www.irwintools.com just scroll down to screw extractors. I've never had any luck with the fluted ones. I break them off and then have to drill them out with a hi-rock die reclaim drill.

Same experience here. Irwintools look like a top quality product that I was not aware of so thx lots for the link.
