all rockets should have the eastern beaver mod done, or it's only a matter of time until the switch frys on ya..

I guess I have been lucky so far 53,000 + miles and original key and wiring with the exception of the wiring mods that came with the update kit. I don't think it has anything to do with the head lights as they are no brighter then before. Oh well cross my fingers as when it goes I am going keyless like others have on this site.

I had a similar problem after heavy rain. Engine management light and oil light on with out the ignition key. I have even had the analogue clock hands spinning backwards like a windmill. I have even had this idiot light problem when riding in torrential rain. It is water getting where it shouldn't. I regularly lift the tank and spray the wiring loom and ignition switch with WD40 or some other water repellent electrically safe spray. It has sorted it. I still mean to pull all the block connectors on the loom and grease them but that's another day.
See, now this is the kinda stuff that makes a worrier like me all paranoid. Trying to stay convinced to take the Rocket touring this time instead of my ZAUAV (Zombie Apocalypse Urban Assault Vehicle, otherwise known as DR650) and I read about Rockets that won't start when it rains or won't start 'cause it's "too cooold" or whatever.:)

Ridden many times in the rain... never had it affect my R3...I have heard those Bolt on option clocks on the Rocket are weather susceptable tho...I use a Formotion clock.. no issues.
