Bad Dyno Tune - Timing Question

Thanks for the tip, bob.

A few years ago I asked Wayne Tripp for his recommendation(s) for a tuner in the Northwest. He didn't know of any he could recommend and instead steered me to a guy in the Bay Area. Logistically not in the cards. He was also really proud of his work (almost $1K for a complete tune). I thought I could get it done by a guy in PDX, but he was pretty much a disaster, hence my current situation.

I'll certainly give these guys a shout when it's time to dial it in properly. Not in the budget until the house sells. Until then I'll "have to rely upon the kindness of strangers" and borrow a tune.

Nels Byersdorf is one of the recommended tuners listed on the Tune ECU web site.
I have tuned two motors with Nels and he IS GOOD!
Nels travels the race circuit with his dyno trailer and does dyno work out of Redline Motorsports in Tacoma.
He has recently opened his own shop at 19501 Woodinville-Snohomish Road_Woodinville, WA with a new dyno in his shop.
I highly recommend him.

YOU need to trailer it to the tuner

There's a hex tune for the Roadster on the TuneECU site: PowerTrippR3RJardine3K&N.hex

For the cost of a cable, you can use the TuneECU program to play around with Tripp's tune for your setup on your R3T.

I just used TuneECU to compare the PowerTripp R3R tune to R3T_Jardines_20366_base_Jan2011 from the TuneECU site. This tune isn't for triple K&N's. You can't compare tunes in TuneECU unless they're compatible. These tunes are compatible which means you could copy all the tables from PowerTrippR3RJardine3K&N.hex into any R3T tune.

Welcome back, Gorgerider.

Try sending a PM to "Navigator" over on the .com site - he (Mike) might be able to refer you to a decent tuner up your way!
