Are They fkn kidding ?

I for one actually like the fact that there isn't much ready made mass produced custom parts available for my rocket. I've never been one to follow the herd much or back away from a challenge when it comes to building a bike up the way I want it, and usually go out of my way to find some way to make my bikes look completely original and unique. And I never have cared much about what brand of parts I used...or whether it was originally made for my bike or not. If it makes it ride better and/or looks good to me - I put it on it.

Bikes are starting to get like all of the new cars...can't find them when they park in a crowded parking area because they all tend to look too much alike.

After all, we can't all be riding around with bright flourescent colors, or wings, shields, flames, and skulls plastered all over us and our bikes....lol

So when they laugh at me because I am different...I just laugh to myself because they are all the same.

No surprise that the owners of the top posuer bike find the R3 ugly. The fact that they bought a 9 is enough for their opinion on looks to be invalid for me.

I see the 9 as the cruiser for guys who really want a sport bike but are scared/injured/disabled and dont buy one. It has the same swooping looks like a sportbike.

Remember lots of these guys would probably buy a 1199 over an s1000rr because the s1000 has asymmetrical headlights, the Duc is oh so sexy, and "intake/exhaust/tune it could be just as fast as the s1000rr"... loooooooool.

And riding 250 miles a year after investing $20,000 - $35,000 in a bike drowning in useless non-functional leather, plastic, and chrome doodads/hoohahs and fancy paint, that you have never ever worked on yourself, while wearing well over $5,000 in brand new logo covered leather gear doesn't qualify you to be called a real biker either.

Reading some of the comments here it's getting hard to spot any difference between the 2 forums.

Personally I think it's absolutely fine for anyone to be one eyed and love the bike they have. After all, aren't we the same?? I've said it before, I love my Rocket because of what it is, not because of what it isn't. These guys are besotted with the look of their bikes and don't seem to notice/mind all that plastic or that headlight shroud. First big (ie more than 1600cc) cruiser I rode was an M109 and I was blown away with it's acceleration and the thump of those enormous pistons.....until I rode a VTX1800. The VTX then became the bike I wanted and I spent a bit of time wanting and trying to buy one. Even romanced a couple of Harleys; closest call was a Fat Bob. But then of course I rode a Rocket..........

I look at Rockets now and don't see the ugly any more. Even the ones that don't look much like mine, I find attractive.

I couldn't give a toss that these blokes love their M109s. Good for them.

As long as you ride even a Goldwing or scooter thats fine LOL

What Richard said is true when you think about it, I personally love my Rocket's Looks now! but the first time I saw it I said "How Fugly" then the power claims intrigued me so I test rode it and was Blown away the rest is History.
We Ride a Truly Unique Motorcycle and it takes a Unique Kinda Person to Own One, further more they are the closest thing you will get to a blank canvass and lends itself to being altered or customised to suit each personal taste Look at @ponters bike or @Trirocket3 masterpiece both absolute works of Art Created in their own Unique Way and that's just two that come to mind.
We are just as one eyed as we bag out Hardly's etc

I parked in a group of Harley riders a few months back as there was nowhere left to park my Rocket. As you say they didn't like it one little bit and to make it worse my bike had all of the attention while nobody even hardly noticed there's. I don't understand the Harley riders anyway, they just seem too blinkered and they appear to think that any other bike on the road is sh1te.
