Anyone using Osram lamps ?

I had ALL MY vehicles with HID for a while. Then was forced to remove for legal reasons. Got loads of them if anybody wants to play.

Their effectiveness depends very much on the burner position relative to the focal point of the reflector/refractor assembly. My experience in 5&3/4" units - over 70% goes to waste. A lot of scatter. Visible to others but it does not help THAT much at night. 7" or bigger and they work far better.

8000K is very UV heavy - Plastic reflectors will degrade. A lot of light but only as good as what they're mounted in. Just so you know. I found out the hard way.

Patterned reflectors and plain lenses will work with just about any lamp colour. Plain reflectors and patterned lenses . use 4000-5000K as the glass patterns are designed to bend light at those wavelengths.

HID works VERY well in bullseye type lamps - like triumph OEM fogs.

If you get the correct bulb you will be fine (HI/LO BULBS).

My bulbs have a hi/lo reflector made on them in which it focuses the light up into the reflective housing therefore back down on the road. I had a old pair of bulbs without the reflectors and it would do exactly as you mentioned. If the bulbs don't have the reflectors then they need to mounted in projector housings.

I might not know what I'm talking about but I can see much better at night compared to what I had. That's the main thing.
