A good friend is speaking highly of the Osram anti vibe lamps. Anyone here using them ? Cost ? Where can I buy them ?

Osram is the European label for Sylvania. The Osram +50 is the same as the +50 Sylvanias sold in the USA, but the Sylvanias have a blue coating on the bulb.

You will REALLY like the Philips X-treme Vision +100. Especially if you have the Eastern Beaver light harness. Bright enough to singe the hair off any wayward rabbits or deer unlucky enough to cross your path.

Wayne - Try J.W.SPEAKER 8630 LED headlights. They beat the living daylights out of the Phillips. It's what I had in my R3 before I went LED. I run them in my 4WD now.

The +100% ime lose about half that extra after 3-5 months. Still brighter but not twice.

The Osram anti-vibe's have a heavier filament - afaik with simple halogen - and the heavier filament results in a slightly yellowed light. Unnecessary for an R3 imo. But if Josey's blowing bulbs he may have a vibe issue.

The lamp bowls do "whang" about a fair bit - and the OEM reflectors are crappy plastic. The positioning tabs fracture and the reflectors themselves deform and degrade with heat and UV light. Makes the vibration worse.

Yep. Done popped one low beam and Gr3ywolf has popped both lows on our PIAA's with the EB relay kit. LED ? Tell me more.

I replaced my lamps for Ring xenon max ultima 120%

£17 for two

There a few youtube vids by people that have these

Have look and see what you think

Much better than standard

They are an interim until I install bi xenon conversions at £65 each

I had ALL MY vehicles with HID for a while. Then was forced to remove for legal reasons. Got loads of them if anybody wants to play.

Their effectiveness depends very much on the burner position relative to the focal point of the reflector/refractor assembly. My experience in 5&3/4" units - over 70% goes to waste. A lot of scatter. Visible to others but it does not help THAT much at night. 7" or bigger and they work far better.

8000K is very UV heavy - Plastic reflectors will degrade. A lot of light but only as good as what they're mounted in. Just so you know. I found out the hard way.

Patterned reflectors and plain lenses will work with just about any lamp colour. Plain reflectors and patterned lenses . use 4000-5000K as the glass patterns are designed to bend light at those wavelengths.

HID works VERY well in bullseye type lamps - like triumph OEM fogs.
