I would like to see a photo of some western style bars on a Roadster.

I have searched a few handle bar sites but can't find any listed.

I have the standard bars with rivco risers and like the extra height and pullback. What I don't like is having to remove the bars and gauges to lift the tank.

I have been looking at Road King style bars from Flanders which I think would fit nicely as they are about 20mm higher and 60mm more pull back.
I already have the classic cables so cable length shouldn't be a problem.
Western bars would offer a lot of width and pullback but not a lot of height.

Check the Flanders handlebar site.

Yes, I have seen Mitch bike. I am tall and ideally need bars that are forward and lower by about 25 to 40 mm than stock Roadster bars.

The gauges yes but why do you remove the handlebar?

On the roadster the handlebar clamp also stops the tank from lifting. I presume the Roadster has a different clamp as well as the gauge bracket.

I don't know what "western bars" are. Do they work when you go any other direction?

If you mean that the tang on the front of the tank hits the handlebar mount, you can lift up on the tang and it will clear. I have the risers as well and the Roadster tank & bar mounts are unchanged from the Standard/Classics.

When you lift the tank just put your finger under the tang and "bend" it up towards the tank (it's rubber mounted so it moves). It may still contact the bar mount but you can move the tank side-to-side until it clears. A whole lot easier than removing the bars!

btw, what are "western bars"?
