Anticipation is killing me...

Just a heads up. After installing the progressive shocks found out the hard way that the headlight needed to be re-adjusted. Stock shocks were sloppy. :D:D:D:D:D:D

Stock shocks were rubbish on my 07 Classic and almost got me killed in a high run through the Oregon Cascade mountain twisties. Went into a tight left curve leaning way over and the rear end started wallowing, almost lost control and into the woods. Ordered Progressive 440HDs. The HDs were over kill and way too stiff but stabilized the swing arm and I never had another handling issue

What model are your Progressives? That's a good call on the powder coating. My chromies started to rust a bit after a couple of years. I sent them back to Progressive and got a call from them suggesting that they send me a new set of powder coated. They did and I never had a finish issue again.

The ones on my Touring seem OK and pretty much keep it sane while riding it.

I'm not a big fan of chrome, so black was the only choice for me. :)

They are 444 HD 13"

Me neither, and the original owner of my Touring, a friend of mine, put every single bit of chrome on it that Triumph makes.

As soon as I put the black shocks on my 07 it set me on the rode to dechroming it.

Miss that bike.

I have read that much improved ride with the 440.
You can barley see the shocks on the touring, so when I replace them they will be black.

I'm just curious on why you would replace them. Perhaps I've not stressed my enough but, again, I don't ride it like I did my 07 Classic hot rod. They seem OK for that. But ditto on the color. If I replace them they'll be black. I have to say that they are a lot more expensive now than when I got mine.

I think they are a harsh ride. I have them set on level 3

And it's a major need if you run LED headlights. My god are the buggers sensitive.

I sure do agree with you here, Chris!
More than a slight PITA to adjust two headlights, especially with the archaic, crude mounting adjustment provided by Triumph!
Wish there was a more modern, up to date, dual 5¾" headlight mount and adjustment system available that would provide consistent finite adjustment of both lights.
An electric one adapted from a cage would be SWEEEEEEET!

Noticed that a bit. The previous owner was about 300 pounds though so probably had it torqued up all the way. I should have checked it when I had the bags off but will do so and put some miles on it when the sun finally starts to shine out here.

"A harsh ride" is a subjective term and not quantitative.
Perhaps you are a tender-butt? Perhaps they are stiff as a solid rod? o_O
They are indeed, performance shockies are like that . . . yeah they are! :D
OEM shockies are for boat performance!
