Heck, I was driving in Orlando a few years ago, on vacation with my family in the car, and made a left turn the wrong way on a one way street. We were most fortunate it was a Sunday in an industrial area with virtually no traffic and I was able to make a quick U-turn.
I've driven in the UK over the years, and one really has to be on one's toes to fight habitual reactions in many situations.
It's no excuse -- but the practical reality is that there are consequences to this day, in multiple countries for decisions made over a hundred years ago.
