Another Oil Capacity Question.

Dry would be after having sump down and all oil has drained out like after a rebuild.Wet would be like a normal oil change ,oil is trapped in galleys that are iñ the sump for strength.

OK so what it boils down to is that a normal oil change with a filter (WET) takes just a few ounces under 6 quarts to fill it.

Yep Dave, just under 3 ounces. So I dump my quarts in and go because I bet I can drain 3 ounces out of the bottles after their empty. Either way I suspect just less then 3 ounces over will not hurt anything.

Another way would be to pour 3 ounces out of one of the quarts into a measuring cup that measures ounces, then pour it and the other five quarts into the bike and all should be great.

It really doesn't have to be that accurate! As long as it is close to the full mark on the dipstick.

No the difference between a dry fill and a wet fill is .5 liters. Triumph says 5.9 liters dry with filter and 5.4 liters wet with filter.

Thanks for clearing that up for me, Amigo!
