Les thinks it was my claw trapping in the noise .. his modified claw allows it to escape .. I think that's what Les surmised (surmised is kind of Professor talk) all I know is that it's got rid of the annoying induction noise. Spoke to Donny about it ( his was just about unbearable with the large exposed K&N's) he said once he got the settings right on his butterflies it lessened significantly.

I lined the inside of my claw with some adhesive sound deadening material. The chirp is still there but much harder to hear. I rarely notice it now.

I melted bitumen sound deadening sheeting inside mine .. chirping was still there.

I think it was either Neville Lush or Wayne Tripp that explained the chirping as being caused by the harmonics in the inlet tract due to the overlap of the cam timing and is resolved by fitting and correctly trimming better cams .... Or something like that
Possibly Les's scoop claw disrupts the harmonics????

I put Les' s claw on mine today.
I am looking forward to having my own one day.

OK, I've been convinced. Curious about the "bell mouth effect" I pulled the rubbers out of my old standard plenum and, after a little fiddling, put them in my intake. All that was needed was a little grinding and cutting to get the three ends level and in-line. Great piece of kit that it is, some will recall that it was only ever the prototype that Cobba made. I have been using simple rubber tubes with a couple of hose clamps to attach it to the throttle bodies; now the bell mouths. Did a 12 minute tune and gave it a bit of a workout this morning on the way to work. I can say unequivocally that there is a significant and noticable boost. A twist of the throttle at 3000rpm in second has the rear spinning and the bike fishtailing. Previously it was more inclined to lift the front wheel a little. Anyway, I'm totally convinced. Just thought I'd say so.

Actually mine DOES chirp (only a little and it is NOT the back tyre making the noise either) I hadn't noticed it before Sundays ride as I was conscience about the exhaust and induction noise.

Rode her home wearing my Kevlar Kee Gee shorts and New Balance runners .... after all the stop start and traffic lights I'm happy to say I still had all the hairs on my leg and not uncomfortable at all.....there is heaps of clearance...... will take it out for a longer run and hopefully do a sound file.

On another note Hanso texted me this morning and said the Classsic has lower floorboards, After abit of discussion with Trevor (my exhaust mate) and if there is any interest to do another set he seems to think its not too much of an issue to reconfigure the layout (talking larger radius bends here and tighter ones there etc etc) to clear the higher master-cylinder cover/foot rest on the other models...... he just needs a donor bike to make it happen............

I'll introduce myself quickly as Tomcat suggested to me earlier:
I've been playing with motorbikes since i could ride one, got into pulling them apart & putting them back together & built some show bikes over the years & bits & pieces for other people - custom & stock - i specialise in the making of top quality hand made leather goods for motorcycles & riders, I am a saddlemaker by trade also harness making, bootmaker, leather tutor, etc so my 35+ years of experience & knoweledge in the leather field has enabled me to bring together my love of leather & bikes to create some pretty awesome ****, so i have been told by numerous people. one of the first triumph's i built is in the very first issue of Live To Ride magazine (titled GO FOR GOLD) written & shot by John Hunter Farrell in the 80's

I have a 2010 Roadster which i have been customizing since i got it - had it dyno'd at Springwood ProDyno Tune at 170 horsepower to the back wheel - i am VERY interested in a set of these pipes you & your mate have been making - just the header pipes really - i rekon it'd get 180 with your design so i am keen as to get my hands on a set - if you need a donor bike & if mine would suit what you're after i'd be more than happy to help - i'm local (Redlands) so let me know!
