Alternative protective gear

Anyone try the Knox range? I like their armoured shirt that can be worn as primary means of protection, including abrasion resistance. Gives a lot more flexibility with regards to what shirt/jacket you can wear depending on the season. They seem to have an online shop in the major parts of the world but quite spendy!

They all are pricey. I did see a guy at Maggie Valley with an Aerostich one piece jump suit. Also pricey, but you could wear shorts underneath if you wanted to

Love my Aerostich Roadcrafter suit.
 
I am a big fan of the KNOX concept - But basically any decent armour-shirt as a base layer with whatever you want over the top.

I have a Halvarssons Armoured shirt which is closer to the Knox Zephyr. I'd still want better abrasion resistance. I often wear a Kevlar lined hoody over the top.
 
My Triumph branded jacket and pants (Raptor series) have Knox armor from the factory. Pretty good stuff. Zero injuries (does pride count?) when I went too wide on a left hand corner and totaled the bike in a bar ditch.
 
I've converted all my gear to use KNOX brand armor in the pockets. It is good stuff, much of it's certified CE armor.

Aerotech suit is the greatest thing since 1902, keeps me warm and dry in 35 degree rain storms with no heated gear!
 
As under armour (maybe against the skin) I think I would give preference to Dyneema over Kevlar. I find Aramid fibres a bit scratchy.

Pando Moto do Dyneema armoured base layers. Edited - with KNOX pads too iirc.
