rocket 3 GT,
Has anyone noticed a sound change of the airbox after just a minute or so or idling. ??
Sounds as if there is a baffle opening in the intake.

Probably the throttle plate opening, the modern equivalent of the choke

You should make sure this O ring gasket is installed, Mine was missing from the factory, Hand made 30K + TFC

Its a hollow sound for about 30 to 45 seconds after initial start, then it goes away and doesnt return till you start it again.
Whats involved getting to that gasket?? Do the runners need to be removed etc.??

Not that tough, Manual says to remove tank, But you just have to lift it about 3 inches to get at runners.

Guessing my dealer who is 90 miles away wont have it in stock.. Probably better order it just in case.
My bike didnt come with a gasket between the airbox and the base, so this one is probably missing also..

My GT has the same hollow noise just like your noise. Hard to tell where it comes from but doesn't seem to bother the engine any. Now you guys got me worried! Not to change the subject, but where did you (Wadejesu) get the printed Maintenance Manual from?

That hollow sound you describe is coming from the intake system on my GT .. If u put your ear up to the steering had where the breather screens are, its even louder.
Because it goes away during warmup, it has to be something Triumph engineered into the air/fuel intake possibly to create a rich condition during initial start up.
Mine only lasts less than a minute .. Sounds like an air leak in the air box, but checked both O ring gaskets, and they are intact.
