advice needed on steering in low speed

I thought the roadster was actualy taller than the tourer , . But i bow to your experience , i've only rode one for a short journey and that was virtualy all straight roads , I know its worked for me , In fact i think its actually enhanced the look of the tourer has well , it just seems to look that much better a bit lower..

But take no notice of me , if i had a roadster i would put ape hangers on it and turn it into a harley . Ha ha

The origin of the joke will probably always remain a mystery, but the best explanation we’ve heard comes from the wife of violinist Mischa Elman. One day, after a rehearsal that hadn’t pleased Elman, the couple was leaving Carnegie Hall by the backstage entrance when they were approached by two tourists looking for the hall’s entrance. Seeing his violin case, they asked, “How do you get to Carnegie Hall?” Without looking up and continuing on his way, Elman simply replied, “Practice.”

Ok . First of all check your tyre pressure like others have said ,, I own the rocket tourer and am 5' 7" and a HALF , bit heavier than you , but any way still a short arse .

So start with the risers from rivco , i put them on mine mainly because i have a crook shoulder and get sore if i'm leaning on it ,, but the risers bring the bars back and fit perfect ,,

thanks for the advice!! as for the cables, would I need new cables if I have the riser fitted? what length should I order for the new cables?

I have those exact risers on my 2007 Classic. If the Roadster is the same, you won't need o new cables but you will need to release them from their mounts to allow them to reach.

I'm seriously considering the Corbin seat. Since you are in Ontario, mind if I ask where you are getting your from? Direct from Corbin?

Yes I will be getting it directly from Corbin but I have an mailbox thingy down in buffalo so I wont get dinged by the custom charge. They told me it'd be at least 4 months out for custom requests (same price thou', very nice indeed), so I will be trying it out in the garage I guess :)

Suppose i'll have to use soap ha ha .

Bd ,, Cables , I'm not sure about cables with the roadster , , I think they have different bars than the tourer , But i know on mine the clutch cable was stretched to the limit , and it did give on me when on a trip, about a thousand klm from home , and lucky enough right outside a country bike shop , where the guy made one up to get me home , So i got a cable from Barrets , they were fairly cheap , about 80 dollars delivered , Only the clutch though everythng else was fine .

But like i said mines the tourer ,

Cables do get stretched to there limits - That's why I will be changing my cables the Classic cables as they are a couple of inches longer.

The Rockets are definitely designed for guys around the 6ft plus ,my R3T fits me like a glove no risers and the reach to the bars is perfect ,however I have seen a few shorter guys riding Rockets without any problems ,its only a issue if they stop on a road with a lot of sideways camber to the left , just wondering do you guys in the US mount your bikes from the left side like us in OZ or on the right side standing out in the traffic flow? just wondering:unsure:
