A little nip & tuck

Let there be light

Taillight arrived last week. Drilled holes and did preliminary mounting this morning. Hopefully paint next weekend after final prep. Still need to check with a good graphic vinyl guy sometime this week about letting her name show through under a couple coats of clear. Will have to see, the budget is getting a little strained.......

Paint

I laid the the base coat of cardinal red last night and let it cure till this afternoon. I went by my local graphic vinyl guy this morning and he cut my "Fat Bottom Girl" stencil for 10 bucks. I used good old rattle can Krylon for fill on the lettering. I just finished laying three coats of clear over everything. Of course I succeeded in getting a pretty good run in the final coat. It will be a good 7 to 10 days before final wet sanding and buffing and hopefully with enough polishing I can blend my f&%k up in. Only time will tell.......

I quite like the light. Looking forward to seeing it finished.

You like red as well and that's not helping you on your opinion.

Tag also kills it. Needs to be relocated some where. It look better not to have anything near the edge or hanging over the edge of the mud guard bmean locking the veiw of that fat tire. I mean you come this far might as well make it right. But its to late now

Each to his own. Not saying I'd do it that way myself either. Have seen plenty of different approaches, some better than others, but all good in their way - to someone's way of thinking at least.

Final Installment

Finished bolting it all up early this morning. Overall I a very satisfied with the results. The paint is about one shade off but came out pretty fair for a two stage rattle can job. For about 175 bucks I have a different look for the FBG that I can take back to stock in about twenty minutes if the mood strikes. I changed all of the under fender connections to bullet style so everything is plug and play. This thread was started so everyone could see what you can do on a small budget and with very limited talent to make your bike just a little different than what everyone else is riding.(Since we all ride Rockets we already are on a different path than most anyway.) I welcome the comments, right, wrong, or indifferent. In the end my fat arse will be the only one sitting on the seat and I am happy.......
