So what's the story with the two Rocket communities - dot com vs. dot net. I suspect there's some history behind it as there usually is. When I followed a link over to the other site for the first time, I saw some familiar names.

A lot of us are members on both sides, there are great friends on both sides of the fence, if there is a story behind it it was before my time:)

Not really much of a story I suspect. They are run different though. This site relies on advertisement from outside sources to fund it. the other relies on member support to keep things in house and no pop up advertisement. I see the pros and cons of both so remane nuetral on which is better. Other opinions I might have could be taken wrong so I will keep my foot in my mouth where it belongs.

I am a member of both sites so I may draw valuble information from a larger base. In my opinion that is one of the best things about having two sites.

Human nature I guess. Even like minded individuals seem to have split up into sub groups. Kinda goes back to this I suspect.

I always thought it was a good vs evil sort of thing, you know like the Web Masters were best friends growing up, then they had a falling out and created the two sites.

Of course we all have our rolls to play.....

Hanso and Canberra are two of our finest generals.....

Evil Mitch is our secretary of war, and mayhem......

And the members that frequent both sites are actually double agents!

It would be a great idea to put 2004-2009 models on one site and 2010--2013 models on the other site. One site with nothing but pride and joy ... the othe site nothing but problems...;);) Sometimes i wonder if this site is for the land of misfit toys...
Pay no attention to me i'm just a sarcastic bastard growing old...:D

You find misfits or shall I say differences of opinions on both sites which is what makes the world round instead of being flat!!!!!

A long time ago, in a Galaxy far far away...
No wait, wrong story.
You're right, There IS history,
but it's all water under the bridge now.
I was one of the first to frequent both sites,
before that, you had loyalists on either one site or the other,
and most would Never go to the other site if their lives depended on it.
Ancient history now.
We're ALL brothers in the wind and Rocket Loyalists.
Life's too short to squabble over such trivialities...
lets ride......

Haven't visited .com in nearly a year but I actually joined that site first...some years back, even before I HAD a rocket! When I was more active I enjoyed both sites for much the same reasons Warp9 cites. These days, with a bionic neck, I don't know if I'll ever ride again...but hope springs eternal :D
