I have a 2020 Rocket 3R with 22 000km. While in full throtle in 4th gear it feels like it was slipping, however the effect stops in high revs. I have read on this forum, that the previous model had am issue with 4th gear. Did any of you had a similar problem with the current model?
Yes, same thing, exactly how I'd describe it, a skip. Probably rounded dogs, on mine, circlip came out of slot, allowing gears to wander, eventually catastrophically failed. Robinson rebuilds them, with back cut dogs, billet 4th gear, and heavier circlip and groove. I had Carpenter Racing in NJ remove and reinstall mine

I don't believe i have heard of a single problem with the late models transmissions except one that burnt his clutch up trying to do burn outs in the wrong mode.
i would have a professional check/drive it to confirm what the problem is or isn't

$4000, complete rebuild with pretty much all internals replaced. Initial estimate was 2500, but it chewed everything up. 1000 miles from home, in St Louis, on the interstate, at rush hour, under an overpass, with a blind curve up-traffic. Locked up and skidded to a stop, it was in 2 gears at once

I am going to say ifthe motor is reving up more than it should then the clutches r slipping
if it is jerking and clanging then it is the gears
if it is just doggie then maybe in the tune up.
slight jerking may be missing on one clyinder.

A little update on the subject. I waited 4 weeks for a window at the local dealer's. The mechanic took my Rocket for a test drive today and called me. Long story short - something is definitely not right but it is hard to give a verdict without tearing the bike apart... Beside the strange vibrations, he was also hearing a strange noise. He felt the problem on many gears 3rd, 4th, 5th, but it was most obvious on the 4th. The noise was also hearable when pushing the bike around the parking lot. He said it may be a problem with the differentaial or with some damper, or with a bearing of some sort or with the transmission (least likely). The plan for now is to ride it and leave it in the shop for the winter... I am starting to regret that I bought it used with 20kkm...

things you can check yourself
check lug nuts to see if they are tight or loose
drain and check final drive for fluid and/or metal in fluid.
rock bike back and forth to see what location the noise is coming from.
put it in reverse and drive it to see (never mind lol)
