Mileage isn't important, but range is. 4.9 gallons on the R3T really sucks. Must have gas by 150 miles just doesn't cut it on a touring bike, and that's on the highway. Forget about it around town, 120-130 max range.

Of course, it doesn't help that its so fun to whack the throttle on this thing.

Hey, John. The 4.9 gallons that was part of the original marketing was in Imperial Gallons, not US Gallons. Triumph marketing had messed up. If you look at the web site now you will see the correct capacity of 5.9 US Gallons. Just letting you know for fuel planning purposes.

I consistently get between 16mpg and 18mpg (USA). That takes me right to 75 miles before the low fuel light comes on with 4.6 gallons used (I've "fixed" my fuel gauge).

I should also note that my speedo is dead on, meaning that my odometer reads a tad bit ~5% low, so over 75 miles I'm probably getting more like 79 miles.

On the freeway, I get about 23-25mpg.

Regardless of my MPGs ... I have a hell of a lot more fun driving the bike than my jeep.
