Hello all, bought my first rocket and it has been an absolute dream however I have a couple of issues that concern me.

1). It is hard to start, I have to crank the engine and then rev it in order to get it to start and stay at idle. Seems to happen regardless of hot or cold engine.
2). When rolling to a stop (actually happened with bike full stopped and clutch engaged once) in neutral with the clutch engaged it will stall out, just completely die. Happens about once a day but it is very intermittent. Starts right back up but still concerning.

Thing I have tried:

12 minute adaption.
Switching from premium to regular gas.

Bike has a bit over 300 miles on it and still has a year of warranty. I plan on bringing it to the dealer but wanted to try to wait till I get closer to the 600 mile mark so that I can get the service done as well. Figured I'd post and get your feedback on this. Thanks!

Doesn't sound good, but I guess there could be a number of reasons why it's behaving that way.

- I'm guessing the bike is brand new, apart from the 300 miles(?)

- Was starting the bike a problem right from the beginning?

- Can you detect any misfire or flat spots in the rev range?

- Hesitancy to pick up the revs at the start of accelerating?

Unusual for a bike with few miles on it. What's the history of the bike? Did you buy it from the dealer or someone who rode it a few miles and then parked it for a long time? If the later, I'd syphon off gas and replace and possibly add some Techron or other additive.

-Yes
-Not immediately but first notice on second day

-History- Sold as new with 30 miles on it. It is a 2023 tho
- Purchased from dealer but I would imagine it has sat for a long time considering it is a 23
-Already ran tank to one bar before empty three times. First time I filled it with premium and with regular thereafter.

Will look into Techron, thanks for the suggestion

Had the same issue with a 2020 GT. Issue was resolved once the bike had new throttle map downloaded (TuneECU).

The fact that the bike has been run for very few miles from new and then sat for, presumably many months, or at least sat with old fuel in the system, i'm thinking the problem lies in the fuel system, which also includes injectors.
If it's running well at all other times, it might be worth getting some miles on the bike without any stop starts.....just keep that fuel flowing and hopefully it will clean itself up a bit.

As is the case, for many modern engines....If one or more injectors are sticking slightly, that might explain the symptoms here, but then my concern would also be for the catalytic converter, because if an injector is stuck open, it could damage the catalytic converter.
That said, I could imagine you'd be getting some fault codes flashing up on the dash.
Just something to have checked at some point by a trained technician.

@Jagster is on it. Although I would just add that you should probably run premium on your next fillup. Some folks run mid-grade (long thread on that), but I'd go with premium for now with the added detergents. Assuming it is fuel related you might also need to change the fuel filter.

I recall that several guys had that engine stalling problem (2020 up) until the 600 mile service was done.

I had rolling stall issue as well, I resolved by over-torquing the battery nut/connectors
