I rode my new bike for 200 miles and then had my local dealer install mid controls. Rode another hundred miles and noticed oil streaking from the RH side front bottom of engine. Took the bike back to the dealership where they sprayed leak detection fluid around the area we thought the oil leak was originating. Found the oil was coming from one of the bolt holes where the forward controls had been mounted. I am thinking that this probably originated from when the forward controls were fitted at the factory? The fix was to install a bolt with a crush washer. I completed a 150 mile ride and no more oil leak. I am not overly concerned about future issues as a result of this leak and remedy for fixing it, unless someone here thinks I should be concerned about oil galleys etc.

I would be interested to know if anyone else has experienced this specific oil leak.

Looks like they drilled the hole too deep instead of making it a blind hole. That fix should be adequate. I'm surprised it didnt leak when the forward controls were mounted unless the bracket was enough to keep it from leaking. It shouldnt hurt the motor in any way unless maybe if you thread a super long bolt into it.

That would be a hard decission for me to make if it was acceptable or not since it's not supposed to leak from there. More than likely though I'd just accept it so I could keep riding.
