With Gen 1 bikes there's probably a wealth of knowledge, how-to's, and fixes buried in the archives of this forum going back to 2004. Makes you wonder if someone should use an AI to catalog all those symptoms and their tests and remedies in a coherent searchable format. I'm probably just dreaming.....

AI is already helping! I first Googled the symptoms of the problem in my last post and AI showed me a few posts in this forum.

i know i am not going to reread this thread and it only takes i step different to throw the diagnosis off.
if you want to start at the beginning and tell us the problems and what works on the bike and what doesn't we should be able to help.
first try to start ign in run position clutch in and push starter button hard and try wiggling it . if that doesn't work hold button and let clutch lever out slowly .
run fuse test with 12 volt test light.
if you are not up to it i will post the correct way.
