In 2007 Triumph did a clutch upgrade and got rid of the needle bearing on the back side of the pressure plate . . . can anyone tell me exactly what was upgraded? Did the upgrade include a new pressure plate?

They give you stronger springs. Upgraded lifter piece and better fibres.

On the Roller bearing piece, that piece is very important when it comes to the pressure plate.. If you're gonna upgrade clutch go a Barnetts kit. BANG FOR BUCK mate..

There is a flat needle bearing on the one I am working on now . . mine didn't have that if I remember correctly, I thought it had a different set up . . like a roller bearing instead of the flat one. If that is true, then the pressure plate is different . . Right??

Lifter piece looks different too . .

Boogerdave, is that you? Good to see you on the forum...do you still live in Milton (or was it Pace)? You still riding your old ride or have you upgraded since I last seen you on the forum?

Told that Suzuki Hyabusa run the same/ very similar clutch pack.

Heard the same Tom.. I am just doing a video on Clutch replacement now. Might have it uploaded soon. Went with Barnetts H/D setup.

Booger.. What colour is your engine..? Mine is 08 Black and they had a flat roller bearing on the Lifter piece with a thin spring washer behind the flange which sits against the basket. I got quoted here for the Roadster upgraded kit $640 aud which included Clutch pack, springs. WHAT A RIPOFF..!! If you can buy the lifter piece off a later model and a Barnetts setup or EBC you'll be better off mate.

Put a set of Barnett H/Duty springs and fibres into mine couple of years ago. Actually cheaper than OEM.

I agree 100% mate.. I can't believe how expensive Triumph OEM stuff is here. And they want us to shop locally. .

Why would you when you could get the same or better overseas for less, I just don't know anymore..
