  1. Having to throttle my R3 to get it to start

Well I think I got the issue fixed. It was a combination of cleaning and lubing the stepper motor, performing the ISCV reset, and adjusting the stepper linkage to the proper voltage and full extension and doing a TPS adaptive reset. Thanks all for your help!!!!
  2. Having to throttle my R3 to get it to start

I mean select Reset TPS in the ECU menu.
  3. Having to throttle my R3 to get it to start

I have a 2006 R3 standard. I did reset the TPS and lubed the linkage a while back, but for different reasons. Guess I'll do the same again, and check the throttle linkages. Makes sense.
  4. Having to throttle my R3 to get it to start

My R3 has been requiring more cranking than usual and I have to give it some throttle to get it to fire up after setting overnight. I need to nurse the throttle until it warms up, then it will hold a low speed idle. I've reloaded the map using TuneECU, and had no error codes. The battery is...
  5. Rear rotation noise

It could be something as simple as a loose item between the rear fender and the tire. Check for a loose object between the two. At worst, maybe a drive shaft component. Haven't had one apart, but you may have a universal joint/or something equivalent going bad. Not much more to offer from...
  6. High speed "sway"

Tracker557 - There's another thread on this somewhere, and it has to do with too little grease on the tree bearings. I fixed my sway/wobble by repacking my bearings.....thoroughly.....not just a swipe of the finger. It makes a huge difference in wobble at high speeds. I also tapped my neck...
  7. Wheel Bearing/Seal Failure

Cardinal, I'm curious what symptoms you noticed that led you to the front bearing issue. Noise? Wobble?
  8. Wheel Bearing/Seal Failure

I have about 45,000 miles on my 06 R3, and 25,000 on my 11 R3R, and haven't noticed any wheel bearing wear/seal failure to date(neither front or rear). Hope I don't for some time/miles. But that aside, has anyone had any such issues? and if so, at what mileage did it show it's ugly head? If...
  9. Top end steering wobble

I found that the tensioning nut on the steering stem was finger loose....I mean tip of the finger loose. I found that out when I removed the lock nut and was fingering the slotted washer off the stem, the tensioner nut moved at the tip of my finger touch. It was a way bit off from the...
  10. Top end steering wobble

I figured it out after a bit. Needed to hang the instrument and the handle bars out of the way and remove the cables and harnesses from the mounting clips. Then I slipped the upper yolk up and over the tubes after loosening the two top yolk clamp bolts. The other trick is to use a lift to get...
  11. Top end steering wobble

Yo all, Has anyone had experience or access to a manual for adjusting the main yolk to remove any slop that might cause steering wobble at high speeds. I have an older version of a service manual for an R3, but it seems to be missing some key information as to how to get past the top triple...
  12. ABS light always on

    Yes it did.
  13. ABS light always on

Jeff, I encountered the same problem on my n2012 Roadster. The tube I believe you're referring to is actually a two wire sensor wiring harness that is encapsulated in plastic tubing and is attached to the front break fluid tube with plastic clips. I found the pinched section actually pinched...
  14. ABS light

Check to see if you may have bent the abs ring ever so slightly while removing/reinstalling it. If it isn't true and consistently spaced from the sensor head, you will continue to get an ABS malfuntion light.
  15. Won't idle

For what it's worth, I've had a similar situation with my 2006 R3 at around 34000 miles. Rather than replace anything, I simply lubricated the idle position controller with WD40. It's located just beneath the coolant tank, on the front of the primaries. Squirt some under the rubber dust...
  16. TuneEcu cable for 06 Keihin 1 ECU

I've got an 06 as well and it has the correct USB plug. Are you looking at the cable receptacle located under the seat, beneath the tool folder, and to the immediate left of the battery protected by a flexible plastic collar?
  17. Tyre wear

I have experinced the same uneven wear on both Metzler and Avon front tires. It always seems to show on the right hand side of the tire weather you ride on the left side of the centerline or the right side. It may have something to do with differences in the camber force on the front forks...
  18. adaption reset not taking.

I've had that happen a few times when downloading a tune directly to the ECU. But I've found that if I saved the existing map to the map file and then downloaded the desired revised tune, I'd get a green TPS indicator within a minute or two of startup.
  19. Reliability, buying decision

I've got 35,000 miles on my 2006 R3 standard, and only had it checked out for a fuel guage issue. No other problems. Had the valves checked at 10,000 miles, but no adjustments needed. Added some Jardines and a PC111 package somewhere around 10,000 miles and have had more fun with it ever...
  20. Roadster Fly Screen FOR SALE

Well folks, I bought my 2011 Roadster with the black Fly Screen and found it looks nifty but it's not for me. It's for sale as of today, and I'll make you a deal well below what I paid for it. It's in new used shape, no damage. The only thing you'll need is the fit kit brackets that mount the...
