Yeah Kevin, the 'stud' should actually be 'stupid' .;):roll::roll:
I wrote off another car, a 2004 AWD Diamante (Magna) sedan a few weeks ago. No trailer this time but hit a big roo 80km west of Hay about 600 km from Canberra at 4.00am on my way back from NT for another load.
Sadly this one only had 130,000 km from new and just 8000km on new springs and shocks. Scrunched the hood, took out right light and power steering pump. I hit it at about 90kmh and kept driving after the impact as with no mobile coverage I wanted to get as close to Hay before it died. After 15-20 km it starting smoking from steering fluid on exhaust so stopped and checked damage. Radiator subframe all pushed back into engine and pulleys belts jammed but radiator still sealed. So I hopped along for 3-5 km until it got hot then stopped for 20 mins and got into Hay just after dawn.

Some peoples' blood is worth bottling!
Rang a lifelong mate who drove from Sydney picking up a car trailer on the way and arrived at 8pm so we got to Canberra at 3.00am. Up at 7am to unload car so he could drop off trailer and drive 350km back to Sydney for a medical appt.
Needless to say long term relationships are built on history and mutual support.
I spent a few days in Sydney last week moving furniture from his Mum's last home to get it on the market.

Steve Stumpy Cross makes T-bars for Rockets you can reach him on Facebook and he's getting ready to make a batch after Christmas. They are black powder coat no chrome.

Life just keeps on delivering... ;)

The last standing Diamante Verada just blew the timing belt at the local dump dropping off a trailer of tree trimmings and is now cactus too! I just had the shocks and springs replaced and a new radiator, brakes etc.:(
It took 5 hours to get a flat bed truck there to tow the trailer as well.
Just had breakfast at 5.00pm.
Luckily my Premium road side assistance covered it all and there was shade, water and plenty of patience!;):roll:

What a deal, you punished that thing with those trips. No matter what happens, you in true aussie fashion, will not be deterred. 🙌 unbelievable but i know its true. If you wrote a book of this move nobody over here could even conceive such a thing.

I'll be heading North again in a week or two. Up to Sydney tomorrow to borrow my mates bigger dual axle trailer.
Got a bargain from a longtime mechanic friend for Au$6000 (US$4000.an Aussie only RHD 2013 Ford Territory, 2.7 turbo diesel AWD 7 seater SUV with a 2700Kg towing limit.
Top of the line leather, Titanium with Alpine roof mount DVD and 30 storage spots etc etc and my first car with a digital screen etc ;)😱:roll:

I've already mounted my Rhino roof pod with 100 litres of fuel so I should be able to due a 4000Km run with just 3 fuel fills.

Hey Kevin, who said I overload my wheelbarrows!;):roll::roll:
Crossing the South Australia Northern Territory border on my previous 6th load half way there!
I think I had 11 x spare wheels and tyres bolted or strapped onboard!
Those four little 8 ply XL 185/75/R13s carried over 3 ton at 60psi without a drop in pressure all the way.

One cheeky fellow at a fuel stop asked if I was a lost Beverley Hillbilly! ;)

The red steel sidecar on top of my lawn mower and washing machine is a 1953 Tilbrook.

The sad demise of my roo ruined 2004 Mitsubishi AWD VRX Magna (FWD version sold as a Diamante in USA) with only 130,000kKm from new.
It took out headlight, power steering pump , mounts radiator subframe etc etc.

I still got about 80km to the next town and it was still running when it went to the wreckers.
