Upset with Corbin, paid, yet received nothing in 12 weeks

Well, I sent 10 days ago an email to the main person at Corbin (email given to me by an employee and I checked for its correctness on the internet), I guess, the owner. Well, still have not received a reply. Nor any evident activity that someone is trying to rectify the situation.

I am just puzzled how a business can run like this. I am just hypothesizing that the owner is too old and the business is running on its own historical coattails. The customer service has probably was not a priority for a while, and the business is likely falling off. I am sure there is some person sitting there, unable to understand why they get no repeat business.

Well, this week of May 18th, shipping supposed to take place. Probably like the 20th week now. Double the advertised wait period.🤞

No shipping this week. They are saying the paint is drying as we speak. Next week it will be 20 weeks.

I called a new person, somebody high standing in sales/customer service, she said the fiberglass machine was broken or molds were not coming out the right way.. That is why such a delay.

First time I hear about it. On the other hand, she didn't seem much concerned that I get no customer service, like no concern there. Seems like, more people I talk to in that company, less I want to buy anything there. Gets scary how many people don't care there.

If I am not going to get it by the end of May, I think I will cancel it, as much as I want the fairing. It is like I am a dust spec for them. Maybe I'll be lucky to pick up a used one on eBay.

Probably need to change the title of the original post from "upset" to "pissed".

Still kind of taken aback that such a custom product company would be so bad at communication, at least in my case. Like sitting and trying to process all this. Was I a fool to expect anything different?

I love Corbin seats, but I would only buy used, never new, I've heard too many stories like yours. Luckily most of my bikes are older, so used ones are around. Inexcusable, I honestly don't understand how companies like this stay in business.

Having been in the small batch aftermarket parts business, I think I know what they're doing and it's slimy. They're completely out of stock on the raw fairing, so they're taking peoples money until they have enough orders to justify a production run. Definitely not the way I do business., but a lot of these smaller companies do.

On the paint side, here in the US, you CANNOT get Triumph factory paint. At least my dealer couldn't, and he tried. Best he could do was order me a new tank in the correct color. My dealer couldn't even get pain codes for someone to mix.
Your dealer wanted to sell you a new tank. My local mom and pop mostly Harley shop had no problem matching my paint.

I would've called my credit card company (or PayPal if you used them) and filed a dispute weeks ago!
