Dealers Disappearing....

Triumph are dictating to dealerships to become more of a boutique store. They are pushing in the UK for sole agent Triumph only including rider wear etc. Maybe the same over there.

The closest dealer to me sells 10 brands. Triumph, BMW, KTM, Ducati, Moto Guzzi, Aprillia, Royal Enfield, Zero, Vespa, and Piaggio.

I was somewhat amazed a couple weeks ago...

A new dealer opened up a mile or so from me, Triumph, BMW and Indian. I made the remark to my wife that I was surprised at the absolute lack of triumph "gear" and that Triumph UK was not forcing them to have a dedicated area.
They had nothing... no jackets, no boots, no shirts, no accessories.

Is this the place just north of Research Forest on 45 on the east side?? When did they start carrying Triumph? That means we have three in Houston-area.

I purchased my Rocket in Daytona Beach and then had the two closest Triumph dealers close up shop. Now the closest is 85 miles to Jacksonville. Very disappointing. I really hate mail ordering every part for this bike, but that is the reality of it now. With all the big news about how badly Harley is doing, I don't see even one of their dealers closing up shop. How well is Triumph doing again?

It seems some Triumph dealerships are being forced to shed other motorcycle lines and sell Triumph only while others are able to keep multiple lines along with the Triumph brand. I wonder why??? Does Triumph have a double standard???

Pulled into St Pete Powersports in Florida and they informed me, they had dropped the Triumph line for that reason. They felt it was better to drop the one Triumph line than several others. They hadn't pulled the Triumph sign down yet. Then drove to Tampa Triumph which only sells Triumph. They seemed to be doing well with quite a pile of accessories and bikes in stock along with several in-house modified Thruxtons (turbo equipped), Bobbers and a Speedmaster that was gorgeous. Only had one new Rocket which they said wasn't a big seller. They seemed to be the only dealer in the whole Tampa, St. Petes area.

Another Triumph dealership in Staynor Ontario, was being forced to move to Barrie Ontario even though they felt things were going well for them. They lost their Triumph line but took on the Moto Guzzi one????

Not sure what Triumph is doing in the marketing category. They may have an excellent design and development team, but marketing...... sucks!

Euro sport seems to be the trend in Oklahoma. Not a fan. Did buy the Rocket X from Euro sport in Fort Worth Texas. The dealer in Tulsa is a joke. Complete rip off from purchase to service. He is a slick operator who makes his customers feel as if they are important people while stealing them blind. A few years back there was a good dealership in Bethany Oklahoma But they refused to cooperate with the guide lines truimph was requesting and now are a independent shop. The two Euro sports in Oklahoma city lack any real mechanics. The wall-Mart of the motorcycle world. Basically you ride a Truimph in Oklahoma you better get good with a wrench.
