A nice side benefit (if you think so) of the Zard is there's more space for the footrest to move rearward. from mids to almost standard position. About 5 more inches back. Just looking at my 1290 I'd say another inch or two back and they would be the same. About even with the front of the seat. Lowered them a bit too, for a bit less leg bend. I'm hoping I can take some weight off my ass if I see a big bump coming. Test ride soon.

Looks great! Those tariffs are a delight, eh? I just ponied up $300.00+ on a new Viking pipe. I’ve been thinking about some mid-pegs for my GT. Can you give me any info on those? Thanks!

Well, I made all those mounts. I just used the tappings that were there. On the right side. I guess where the factory mid controls mount. I'm happy enough with the forward controls, and just a mid and standard position foot rest is fine with me. On the left side I used the kick stand mounts. The bolts are M10-1.25 fine thread. I bought longer ones and used spacers. I had some 1/2" aluminum rod that I cut to length and drilled to make the spacers. A piece of black shrink wrap makes them a little prettier. Here's what the mounts look like. On the right side the tappings for the factory mid controls were there to use. But the top hole was right where I wanted the peg. So I had a metric carriage bolt that I threaded in by hand with blue loctite until I could slip the notch in the top of the mount under it snug. Then bolted the bottom. the U- shape piece for the peg swivel is square tubing with one side cut off. But use thicker stuff. What I used was to thin. All I had. .... Then with the new exhaust I had room for what was almost standard position pegs. On the left side I used the same spacers for the kickstand bolts with a piece of flat steel 1/4" x 1 1/4" with a little tab on back to take the twisting force of the peg. The tab lays against the kick stand mount. On the exhaust side I used a bolt that was down behind where the 02 sensor is. There's a little oval thing right behind it with 2 slotted screw looking things? And at the horizontal juction of the cases there was a hole in a tab that I used for the upper mount. .......Then after a ride with the new rearward pegs, I decided I wanted the mid pegs to. So I ordered 2 more pegs and made a floor board set up. ( you can tell I like to tinker, ha ha) . BTW, the longer kickstand bolts are M10x 1.25 x 80 mm. Amazon.com if you want to try making some and I can help let me know.
