Finished up setting the valves on the ole' R3 last night. We've had some pretty good salt washing rain the last couple days so I thought I'd take her out, warm her up and change the oil this morning.

Did you have to change shims/or use one of those valve shim tools?

You use the tool to hold the bucket down so you can remove / replace the shim to get to correct clearance. Shims come in different thicknesses.

Yes, but I was wondering if you actually had to r&r some shims and how tight the clearances were.

Ok I read the other post, got my answer

As my co-worker from Arizona likes to say, my state is broken.

Was riding all last week, then we got a couple inches of snow on Sunday. It's supposed to be nice today and tomorrow, then snow and rain, followed by another 70F, then more snow and rain....yay...

Scandinavia has been pretty warm all winter. I had to use my snowblower twice, and one of those was mostly pointless just to do it (could easily have cleared the tiny bit of powder that came down manually).

The jet stream will shift for next year though, will probably be tons of snow here and far warmer in the US where the cold landed this year. Climate change, gotta love it... or not.
