Would, or does, your mate saddle up behind you on the back of your bike? I know there’s a name others call passenger seats. Just can’t think of it now lol. I’ll keep this short as I can. Tend to drift off the road a tad with my stories lol.....Here goes...When I finally got the right to ride..IE...my bike license.....Kawasaki VN 1500cc. Was proud as punch 😀. Practiced n practiced, till I ...naively thought I was experienced enough to carry a passenger. Please keep in mind. This in no way is a disparage on those who share a ride without years n years of experience. Those are lessons learned. This is simply my first,....rather, my wife’s first time on the back seat of my bike. Went out n bought her a safety DOT approved helmet. Explained the “ does n don’ts about leaning”. M....N away we went. Rode her around the square block we live in. Square klm. Never even got up to the speed limit, which is 50km/h. Never exceeded 40. Entire ride, about as long in duration, and threatening as the pony ride at your local fair took about 12 minutes.....Pulled into my driveway, kicked down the stand, helper her off, n asked her....” Did you like that”? ....She said...” Don’t ever ask me to get on that FKn suicide machine ever again”!!!! I guess bikes are clearly not for everyone? 🤣😂😆.

You’re lucky, she made the decision for you.

I made an agreement with her that day. She would trust me riding alone from there on, if I substituted the passenger seat on my bikes, with chrome accessories.

My wife rides with me every now and again, she's not a big fan - BUT, whenever we ride to a bike rally, when we get there and she sees/hangs with all the "good brothers & sisters" she ALWAYS say.... this is fun! Hence our last meet, I had to purchase a new dual Corbin seat. It's always OK to spend money when "she's" involved. I might add, I've had my rocket for almost 2-years and this was her 1st time on it and I did make sure she knew why it's earned the name "rocket":eek:o_O:roll:

My wife has been on the backs of bikes since her feet could touch the passenger pegs. I can barely tell she's there.

She does not like the pillion seat or backrest pad on the Rocket - to the degree that she would actually prefer my old Sprint ST. I've got a Corbin coming that will hopefully address those issues.

Have you tried an AirHawk cushion for her yet? I have one for my girl and she raves about it to others often.

When I first met my wife in 1984 and just started dating I was riding my old Yamaha 1100. I thought I was the shi* and no one could out ride me. I had her sit on the back of my custom Yamaha Banana seat and proceeded to pop a wheelie for around 60' or so with her hanging on for dear life with me thinking in my head she is so impressed her panties are dropping. Didn't happen! To this day it registered as one of the dumbest things I have ever done. She told me to stop the bike and I did. She didn't say a word but walked/stomped back into her house. She didn't ride with me for 30 years until I bought my 14 Rocket. She rode with me for 3 miles in a residential area with pedestrians walking faster than I was riding with 6 year old's on Hot Wheels taunting me. She was okay with the 2.5 mph ride but after I bought the 2020 Rocket she just said "Don't even ask". Was it a mistake in 1984 or a blessing? :sneaky:
