I was on my way to have a new front tyre on Friday. Just my luck after days of dry weather just as I was about to set off the rain started, not enough to wash all the crap away, just enough to raise all that oil & crap to the surface of the tarmac. I'm riding here on a worn out front tyre on right hand side. As I was coming off a roundabout leaning left I tried to accelerate away when all hell broke lose, the back ends going to the right, the front end's going left & I'm being thrown around like a rag doll. Although it only lasted for a second or so, it seemed like the end of my world. Yes it was my fault, I applied too much power too soon while the bike was too far inclined & that wasn't much, if the lean had been to the right it would have put all that force to the worn out side of my front tyre & I would have lost it all together, as it was I just carried on with my journey taking a lot more care. I would have loved to have seen the face of the driver in the Mercedes behind me, I'm sure he saw my arse twitch, (what doesn't kill me makes me stronger) didn't fel that way at the time. Be careful out there!!!!
