2012 Triumph Rocket Roadster
Hi, I wondering how difficult is it to remove the rear wheel from an R3 Roadster? Is it a straight forward procedure once it's lifted and the axle is taken out? Is it a matter of just pulling it out like a car wheel off or are there springs etc that go flying off in all directions. Any help would be appreciated.
 

5 min job ... make sure to undo the bolt that the Caliper pivots on
 
Does the muffler have to come off if you have stock pipes to slide the axle bolt out ? Or does the rear drop a bit when lifted to gain access?
 
Depends how high you can lift it and if it is on a lift table with a rear drop hatch.
 
Just done my diff today.
The muffler has to come off to withdraw the axle.
And the muffler bracket has to rotate down after taking off the rear foot peg.

It's what I had to do anyway.

After that it's pretty straight forward, only one spacer and it's done.

I'm with you on that...I was the fight of my life on my R3T with ABS. It was a few other things, but mainly about getting the stupid spacer back in.
 
Best technique I've found for getting the rear back on is is to get my legs in line with the wheel whilst sitting on the floor under the bike and use my legs to hold it up and get it seated on the spines, then don't breath until the axle is through

Obviously only works when he bike is on a lift
