What air intake is this?

I just bought a 2007 R3 Classic and it has some type of custom air intake on it. I can see someone painted half of the bear claw and that it is not the stock airbox. I can't find any company name on it or anyhing. Any ideas? I would think my air filter under the seat is not even being used, right? I can't really tell if the bearclaw was cut at all, but it was painted on the bottom part.

Very intreging maybe you can track the former owner down and find out from him I am guesing it is a custom made item an if so there would be a few here that would like to see more pictures as that type of filter could work well with a ram type cover over it

That looks like the limited Piper Cross filter intakes done by Wayne Trip at Power Tripp performance. They were limited because he had troubles getting aconsistant supply of the filter media. **** good set up though If you do not want it I will gladdly take it off your hands. For a very reasonable price that will definetly cover your purchase of what ever filters you want and installation.

Geez you are quick Scot:D

Oh and by the way Nathan Welcome to the site, judging by the fact that Wayne may have been responsible for the filter I would be sure that it has had the ECU tuned aswell, he is probally one of the foremost tuners in the USA

Thanks everyone. Given the fact that I bought it in Alabama that is most likely the case. It's in Nashville TN now :)

Just talked Wayne and he knows all about the bike. What a nice guy thanks all for the help. Wayne said he tuned it and it made great power.

Yep wayne does some fine work. He was hoping to make a bunch of them filters but like I said getting a constant supply from piper cross was a no go. so the ail ended there. its to bad I would have loved to have one for Gracie.
