I thought I would share this exchange with you guys so you did not make the same mistake I did when dealing with NCY on accessories and parts. It went from "free shipping" to $17 after the item shipped.

Hey Greg,
I spoke with our shipping department and you were actually charged $17 due
to the size and weight of the item. It does state in our shipping policy
that oversize/weight items can incur more charges. I do apologize about the
confusion Greg.

Thank you for choosing Victory Parts R Us.com!

shipping

You should send it back.
A solo luggage rack is a small item and getting charged for overweight /over size shipping sounds like B.S. to me.
Thanks for the heads up, I would not not buy from them knowing that they lied about the shipping.
There are plenty of other places that you can order Triumph stuff from and with
free shipping.

I agree with Mac.
Send it back with a note saying he just lost any sales to me at least.
Lieing is one thing, I don't like.
He has no integrity saying he saved you $14. in the letter then charging you $17.
because it's either oversized or over weight.
What does get free shipping, a pair of sunglasses?
Send it back or better yet, just refuse it.
They'll either eat it or pay for the return shipping...
thus voiding out most of the profit they charged you to ship it...
Thanks for the heads up Elvis, appreciate it.

How stupid can you be as a seller!
If you want to get your shop closed in time because if this "free publicity" you just have to do like they do.

In Holland we say:

Do what you say and say what you do.

These people say yes and do no.

The free publicity on this Forum and the Mouth to Mouth talk will cause more damage to them then those few Bucks they got for transport.

Good Luck.

I've bought a lot of stuff from NCY and they have always had great prices and service. Have you tried calling them sometimes that works better than email. Sorry you had a bad experience. They should make it right with you.

Dan

They offered me a $17 credit on my next order, piss on them, I have ordered my last part from them ever. Below is the verbiage:

That is what you were shipped. I apologize I was looking at your previous
order. Sorry about the confusion Greg; you still have a $17 credit on your
account with us. Let me know if I can do anything else for you.
Thanks again for being understanding,
Daniel

Same here. Always great service and reasonable shipping charges. Sounds like it may have been more a misunderstanding and/or admin arror than an attempt at ripping you off. They'd be keen to keep your business and I'm sure they'd sort it out for you.

It sounds like they did. Although I would be a little pissed myself it does sound like they made an effort and if you have something else you want you have a $17 head start! :D
Sorry for the joke...couldnt help it....but hey thats the great thing about this country....you can say piss on it and find it from someone else!

Received the part today and have it on the bike, they charged me $14 instead of $17 but it is still about principle I guess. Dan said he would refund my card, guess I will have to wait until the next statement to see if they did.

The principle involved here is intent not honesty. It appears that they made an honest error and they clearly made a legitimate effort to make amends for it. Why they offered to eat 3 bucks more than that error on a subsequent order, rather than simply refunding your $14 is a bit baffling, but, IMO, you have either overreacted or you did not handle the situation aggressively enough to get the resolution you would have been happy with, Elvis.

I have dealt with the same outfit several times and have had nothing but positive experiences with them and I would recommend them to others without reservation.
