My R3T is smooth as silk up to around 75. I get some high frequency vibes past that, but they're relatively insignificant. The bike loves to motor at 70-75 (sweet spot).
I picked up a new '08 R3T last weekend and absolutely love the bike, but not the vibration, which is pretty much as described in this thread. Up to 75 MPH in 5th, it is pretty smooth. But after that, the vibration is very noticeable. I'll try putting on some heavy duty bar end weights and see if that reduces it somewhat.

I never noticed any vibration at any speed. I do wear some thick gloves that might be keeping it down. I have noticed a little buzz from the headlight area at about 45 that goes away a little over and under. That is it.
I think comparing the ride quality to a Wing isn't going to yield a match. My R3T is very smooth even at highway speeds. Compared with my old VTX, or the HD's I've ridden this bike is very smooth. I've not ridden a Wing, but from what I gather, that bike is the ultimate in smoothness.
I had owned BMWs for 23 years before buying my 2008 R3T. The bike has less vibration than my 2005 R1200RT and more than the 2001 K1200LTC. In general, I don't notice vibration in the Rocket, which is all anyone can expect. Addendum: I have noticed a slight tingling at 110 mph.
Having owned (or should I say financed?) two Honda Gold Wings, as previously noted, they were extremely smooth running machines...vibration was not an issue. Having had my 2007 Rocket Classic for two years with almost 8,000 miles on it I have not really thought about vibration at all, my main issue being seat comfort which I am still somewhat working on, but the Rocket, to me, is pretty smooth and extremely satisfying to ride around town or on the highway. If the vibration is still somewhat noticeable I hope the bar end weights help out. Just remember the Rocket is not a Gold Wing so don't hold it up to that high of a standard as far as vibration goes.
Enjoy your new ride, I will now wait till the beginning of July so I can ride mine once again.
