Vibration in 1st gear

Glad I'm not the only one that experiences that. I'm already getting used to it. The only thing that really bothered me is thinking there might be something wrong with the engine. But there's not. It's just a huge motorcycle engine where sometimes you're bound to feel the commotion off all the metal moving underneath and energy pulses. I think I'm kind of learning already how to avoid most of it. You got to hit the gears just right.

Should really be smooth.... Triumph could improve this.

You are mentioning wind... I find the Rocket to have a dislike of wind... Of all my bikes the Rocket suffers most in any form of wind. My KTM Super Duke R hardly notices wind, so also my wife's Harley 1200 Sportster... but the Rocket... O dear!!

I have the same experience as you. I had 2 older goldwings( 77 and 84) and a 93 knight hawk and this rocket is the worse with wind. Not so much wind coming at me because I added a windshield but any cross wind makes the ride terrible and even more so when i'm 2 up.

Changing the controls from GT to the R mid position has made a difference but its still worse than the other bikes. Makes me wonder if its due to the wide tires or something.

triples sound like they are about to break when idling and low speeds; and it get worse the larger the engine. Ive been riding triples for a very long time and Im still not used to it. that “out of sync rattle” can be disturbing … stay above 3k and life will be great.

My first one, seems OK to me.

Sounds like you know exactly what I'm talking about. Out of sync rattle is a good description. Mine only does at 2600-2800 RPM. Everywhere else it's smooth.
My 2300 Rocket Touring doesn't have this quirk.
I had a theory that flashing a better tune would help. Looks like you've done that though. No change?
