Does anyone else have an issue with the engine getting really hot, to the extend that even the frame and side panels get too hot to touch?
Also, I can see the exhaust elbow right below me glow red in the dark!

Any input anyone? Thx.

If you have Jardines, make sure that the joins are sealed well. Mine are not and as a consequence, the seat pan, and side covers get very hot.

If you're running stockers, I cannot offer an opinion. But the engine puts out a lot of heat especially when the fan on the rad is running. It'll blow onto your legs.

Not really unusual for the stock header to glow even when the bike is in stock form. If you want to feel like toast, ride one of the 96ci HDs before they rerouted cylinder #2's exhaust pipe.

Wraping

I wrapped the headers withe header wrap from the heads to where they split up. Helps a lot They say if you take the headers off and have them ceramic coated that they are even better.

Ps check out my Leverage Locking Rocket Lift

When I first bought my bike last summer it had the Jardines and I had the chance to ride it on some 98 to 104 degree days and promply cooked myself. While the bike was at the dealer having the up grade done, I had the tech wrap the header pipe. Makes a huge difference on those hot days. I can now ride for long distances on those really hot days without too much discomfort.

If you REALLY want to experience some heat in the summer....leave the lower deflectors on!! OMG!

When I first ran the bike after mounting the preds, they glowed red under the heat shields after idling for 5 minutes, and with a few throttle blips
These are essentailly 3 cylinder car motors on 2 wheels.

also go down to you'r local speed & performance shop or go on line and order some purple ice thay use this in drag cars and high performance engines i ran this in my hot rod and it droped the temps about 10-15 deg's !!
