I have been learning to install maps ( instructions from Wayne on the first one) . Had to install a different map because of some parts changes.
First of all When I am running the 12 minute tune with the computer hooked in Via Tune ECU , I will get a fault on occasion. The indicators will go off. Then the computer will try to re-establish contact with the bike. It will blink red 3 or 4 times then go out. I have tried to disconnect the USB , and install again. It will trigger the red blinks again. Some times this will work, other times I have closed the program , and restarted it , and it will work sometimes. BTW do not loose contact w/o the bike running. Can not figure if it is the bike realigning itself, or a bad cable.
The computer is good.
Second question. If I change filters from one K&N under the seat to three under the bearclaw. Not change the map. Do I have to still have to run the 12 minute tune ???
Thanks

#1 Bad cable .. many OBDIII have been faulty dry solder joints.. my first didn't work at all it had the black sealed plug so I tossed it and got the blue plug one both with screws to split it if needed.. both from ebay

There is a post showing how to resolder dry connection joints if you can solder..
